How to manage personas

Overview

This guide covers the day-to-day management of personas in TheyDo — including editing, organizing, duplicating, moving, deleting, and exporting persona records.

Before you start

  • You need persona edit permission to make changes to personas.
  • Moving a persona to another workspace requires manage-level access to the destination workspace.

Editing a persona

  1. Go to Personas in the main navigation.
  2. Click any persona to open it in the side panel.
  3. Edit the name, description, traits, or any property directly — changes save automatically.
  4. To see the persona's linked journeys, open the Journeys tab inside the persona.

Duplicating a persona

  1. Open a persona (or hover over a persona row or card in the library).
  2. Click the three-dot actions menu.
  3. Select Duplicate persona.

The new persona opens immediately for editing.

Moving a persona to another workspace

  1. Open the persona's actions menu.
  2. Select Move.
  3. Choose the destination workspace from the list.

Linked journeys move along with the persona.

Deleting a persona

  1. Open the persona's actions menu.
  2. Select Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Filtering and organizing personas

Use the filter bar in the Personas library to narrow by category, status, type, linked journeys, owner, or tag groups. You can save your filter and layout configuration as a saved view so your team can switch between common perspectives quickly.

To configure table columns (in table layout), use the column selector in the toolbar.

Exporting personas to CSV

  1. In the Personas library, click Download as CSV in the toolbar.
  2. In the export modal, choose whether to include journey references and tags.
  3. Click export — the file downloads based on your current active filter scope.

Tips

  • Saved views are a great way to create team shortcuts, like "Enterprise personas" or "Personas without linked journeys."
  • If you're working in table layout, you can configure which columns are visible using the column selector.
  • The Journeys tab on each persona shows which journeys it's linked to and lets you unlink from there.
