How to use the TheyDo Agent

Overview

This guide explains where to access the TheyDo Agent, how context works, and how to use Edit mode to create and update journey content through conversation.

Before you start

  • The TheyDo Agent can only access content you have permission to view or edit
  • Edit mode must be enabled for your workspace by an admin. If you don't see the option to make edits through the Agent, check with your workspace admin.

Step 1: Open the TheyDo Agent

You can open the Agent from:

  • Any journey page
  • Your Journeys, Insights, Opportunities, Solutions, and Metrics libraries

The Agent is aware of where you are in the product. If you're viewing a filtered or custom view of a journey, it will only consider the building blocks shown in that view.

Step 2: Ask a question or give an instruction

You can ask the Agent anything related to the journey or content you're working with. For example:

  • "Summarize what this journey is about"
  • "What are the key pain points in this journey?"
  • "Which opportunities should we prioritize next?"

When you open the Agent, you'll also see a set of suggested prompts. Clicking one adds it to the input field so you can review or edit it before sending.

For more ideas and a full prompt library, see: Getting better answers with the TheyDo Agent.

The Agent automatically uses the page you're on as context. For better results — especially in library views — add more specific context by selecting building blocks.

On library pages (Journeys, Insights, Opportunities, Solutions, Metrics):

If you can edit building blocks:

  1. Select one or more items from the list
  2. Click TheyDo Agent in the bulk action bar

If you have view-only access, reference the topic or scope in your question instead — for example: "Summarize insights related to the sign-up flow."

On a journey page:

  1. Select one or more building blocks
  2. Click TheyDo Agent in the bulk action bar

Selected items are added as context. You can remove items from the context list before sending if needed.

Step 4: Review and approve edits (Edit mode)

When Edit mode is enabled, the Agent can propose changes to your workspace content — creating journey structures, mapping insights, rewriting descriptions, and more.

The Agent always asks for your approval before applying any change. You'll see a summary of what will be updated. Nothing is applied until you confirm.

To revert an approved edit:

  • Use CMD+Z (Mac) or CTRL+Z (Windows) in the editor
  • Or ask the Agent directly: "Undo the last change"

There's no formal version history yet, so review each proposed edit carefully before approving.

Step 5: Manage the conversation

While working, you can:

  • Reset the conversation to start fresh
  • Expand the chat window for more focus
  • Close the window to hide it — the conversation stays open when you reopen it

The Agent does not retain memory across separate conversations. Each new session starts fresh.

Admin settings: enabling the TheyDo Agent

Admins can enable or disable the Agent at the organization and workspace level.

  1. Go to Settings from the left menu
  2. Open Details & AI under Organization
  3. Scroll to AI in this organization
  4. Turn on Activate AI for this organization
  5. In the workspace list, toggle TheyDo Agent on or off per workspace
  6. For each workspace, you can enable read mode, edit mode, or both

By default, the Agent is disabled and must be enabled per workspace.
