How to navigate and zoom in a journey

Overview

TheyDo gives you several ways to move around and zoom into journey maps, so you can explore the details or step back to see the full picture. This article covers zoom controls, full-screen mode, and grab mode navigation.

Zoom controls

Fit to screen

Click the Fit to Screen button in the zoom menu to instantly view the entire journey at a glance. This is helpful when you've zoomed in and want to quickly return to a full view.

Custom zoom levels

You can zoom between 50% and 200% using the on-screen zoom controls in the toolbar.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Zoom in: Cmd/Ctrl + +
  • Zoom out: Cmd/Ctrl +

Full-screen mode

Full-screen mode removes distractions so you can focus on the journey or present your work to stakeholders.

Enter full-screen mode

Use the zoom menu to enter full-screen mode, or press:

  • Mac: Cmd + Option + Enter
  • Windows: Ctrl + Alt + Enter

Combine with filters

Before entering full-screen mode, apply filters to show only the most relevant parts of the journey. This is especially useful when presenting to stakeholders who only need to see a specific view.

Grab mode navigation

Grab mode lets you move around the journey map by clicking and dragging.

Activate grab mode

  • Hold the spacebar, or
  • Click the grab button (hand icon) in the toolbar

Once grab mode is active, click and drag to pan around the journey map smoothly.
