What are Collections?
Overview
Collections are curated spaces where you can bring together journeys, views, documents, and building blocks for a specific audience or topic. Instead of dropping stakeholders into the full workspace, you curate once and share a focused entry point — with the TheyDo Agent embedded and automatically scoped to exactly what's in that collection.
What Collections include
A collection can contain:
- Journeys and saved journey views
- Documents
- Insights, opportunities, solutions, metrics, and goals
You can mix and match content types freely. Everything stays in its original location in TheyDo — you're linking content to a collection, not duplicating it. If you remove something from a collection, it remains in the library.
The TheyDo Agent inside Collections
When TheyDo Agent is enabled for your workspace, it's automatically embedded in every collection. The Agent only reasons over the content you've linked — not the full workspace, and not the collection description. That makes it much easier for stakeholders who don't use TheyDo day-to-day to get focused, relevant answers.
You can also switch the Agent to floating mode to keep the collection content visible alongside the chat.
Note on scope: The Agent works across roughly 1,000 insights per collection. If you're curating content for a large business unit or broad theme, consider splitting into multiple collections (for example, one per region or sub-theme).
When to use Collections
Collections are useful when you want to:
- Give executives or senior stakeholders a focused view of a specific theme, like churn or onboarding
- Share a curated set of journeys and insights with a product squad, business unit, or external partner
- Onboard a new team member by showing them exactly where to start
- Build a living reference around a specific service, process, or customer pain
Before you start
- Collections are available to all customers. No setup needed.
- To use the TheyDo Agent inside a collection, AI must be enabled for your workspace. Go to Settings → Details & AI → AI in this organization and activate it, then enable Ask TheyDo for the relevant workspaces.
Tips
- Add a clear description when you create a collection — this is the first thing viewers see, so treat it like a short executive summary. Note that the description text is not included in what the Agent reasons over — only linked content is.
- Collections are private by default. You need to change the visibility to share them with your workspace.
- Once a collection is shared, anyone with workspace access can add or remove items. Owner-only controls are coming in a future update.
