How to create a Doc
Overview
This guide walks you through creating a doc in TheyDo and linking it to a journey. You can create a doc from within a journey using the TheyDo Agent, or start one directly from the Docs library.
Before you start
- AI must be enabled for your workspace to generate docs with the TheyDo Agent
- If you're creating a doc from a journey, make sure the journey has content for the Agent to work with
Create a doc from a journey
This is the most common starting point. The Agent generates the doc based on the journey you're in, and it gets automatically linked to that journey.
- Open the journey you want to create a doc from.
- Open the TheyDo Agent chat.
- Type your prompt — for example: "Write an executive summary of this journey" or "Create a business case based on the top opportunities here."
- Review the output. The Agent will propose the doc before creating it — you'll see an approval step.
- Approve to save. The doc will appear in the Docs tab of the journey and in the Docs library.
Create a doc from the Docs library
- Go to Docs from the navigation.
- Select New document.
- Use the TheyDo Agent to generate content, or write directly in the editor.
Add charts and data
Once a doc is created, you can enrich it with visual data:
- Inside the doc, select Add pulse chart to insert a chart — for example, insights by step.
- Choose the journey and view you want to pull data from.
- You can also add metrics and switch between card and chart visualizations.
Link a doc to a journey
Docs and journeys can be linked to each other. This keeps reference material attached to the journeys it relates to, and makes it easy to find from either side.
From a doc:
- Open the doc and scroll to the Journeys section below the properties.
- Select Link journey and choose the journey from the picker.
- To unlink, select the journey row and confirm.
From a journey:
- Open the journey and go to the Docs tab in the side panel or modal.
- Select Link document and choose the doc.
- To unlink, select the row and confirm.
Note: Docs and journeys must be in the same workspace to be linked.
Tips
- You can use an existing doc as a template. When prompting the Agent, reference the doc you'd like it to follow — it will match the structure and tone.
- The TheyDo Agent can also edit docs. Describe what you'd like to change and it will propose the update for your approval.
- You can highlight text inside a doc to focus the Agent on a specific passage.
