How to create a Collection

Overview

This guide walks you through creating a new collection and adding content to it. Collections are created from the Collections view in the navigation bar, and you can start linking content as soon as the collection is set up.

Before you start

  • To use the TheyDo Agent inside your collection, AI must be enabled for your workspace

Steps

1. Create the collection

  1. Open the Collections view from the navigation bar.
  2. Select New collection.
  3. Give it a name that reflects the audience or topic — for example, "Churn — Exec View" or "Onboarding Squad".
  4. Optionally, pick an icon and add a description to frame what the collection is for and what viewers should take away.
  5. Select Create.

Your collection is now ready. It's private and only visible to you until you change the visibility.

2. Add content

Inside the collection, select Add item to start linking content. You can add journeys, saved journey views, documents, insights, opportunities, solutions, metrics, and goals — mix and match freely.

When searching, you can filter by name, topic, or tag. For example, type "churn" to surface everything tagged with that topic.

There are two ways to link a full journey:

  • Pull — from inside the collection, select Add item and search for the journey by name.
  • Push — from where the journey lives, use Send to collection. You'll find this option in three places:
    • The favorites or framework bar in the navigation panel, on the journey's action menu
    • The journey detail view, in the top bar
    • The journey three-dots menu

All three open the same picker. You can also create a new collection on the fly from the picker if the right one doesn't exist yet.

Note: Push (Send to collection) is currently only supported for journeys. For all other content types, use Add item from inside the collection.

3. A note on the description field

The collection description has a rich text editor with a slash menu that lets you reference other items. These references are not the same as linking content — the TheyDo Agent won't treat them as collection context. Only items added through Add item or Send to collection are included in the Agent's scope.

Removing linked content

To remove an item, select it and choose Unlink. The content stays in your library — only the connection to this collection is removed.

Tips

  • The navigation panel doesn't have a create option — collections are always created from the Collections view.
  • Think of a collection as a curated list, not a folder. You're organising access, not moving content.
  • The more focused the content, the more useful the TheyDo Agent's answers will be.
