TheyDo MCP (read-only)

This article is for product managers and business users who want their experience context inside the AI tools they already use, such as Claude. With the read-only MCP connection, you can ask questions about what is in your TheyDo workspace in plain language, without opening TheyDo itself.

Note: TheyDo MCP is currently in private beta. To take part, ask your CSM about access.

What it does

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard way for AI tools to connect to external systems. Before this, TheyDo data could only be queried inside TheyDo. With the read-only MCP connection, an MCP-compatible tool like Claude can read your workspace and answer questions grounded in your actual journeys, insights, opportunities, and solutions.

This is read-only: the connection lets the tool look at your experience context, not change it. It also respects the permissions you already have in TheyDo, so it can only reach what you can reach.

What you can ask

Because the answers are grounded in your real workspace data, you can treat it like asking TheyDo from wherever you work:

  • Get answers without switching tools. Ask "what have we learned about onboarding in the last month?" directly in Claude, instead of opening TheyDo to look.
  • Scale access to experience context. Give more people a way to reach customer experience data from the AI tools they already use, grounded in TheyDo.
  • Get a prioritization opinion. Ask "what should we prioritize?" and get an answer based on validated customer experience data.

How to connect

  1. Ask your CSM to enable MCP access for your account.
  2. In your MCP-compatible AI tool (for example, Claude), add TheyDo as a connection.
  3. Authenticate so the tool can reach your workspace on your behalf.
  4. Ask a question about your workspace in plain language.
