Link Solutions to Insights
You can link Insights directly to a Solution to show exactly which customer pain points that Solution addresses.
This gives you a clear connection between research and action, which can be especially helpful when reporting on ROI or showing the evidence behind a specific Solution. It works alongside the existing Opportunity-to-Insight links, so you can choose the structure that best fits your team’s workflow.
Before you start
TheyDo’s Triple Diamond workflow is designed to guide teams from Insights to Opportunities to Solutions.
We recommend following that path where possible. Direct Insight-to-Solution linking is best used when your workflow or reporting needs require a more direct connection between evidence and action.
What appears in the tab
Within a Solution, you can see all connected Insights under the Insights tab.
This includes:
Manually linked Insights that you add yourself
Related Insights, which are automatically included when they share the same Journey step as the Solution
You can manage this view by:
Hiding Insights that are not relevant
Highlighting Insights you want to emphasize
How to link an Insight to a Solution
You can link Insights to a Solution from either:
a Journey
the Solution library
From a Solution
Open the Solution you want to update.
Go to the Insights tab in the Solution card.
Click the + Link button on the right side.
Select the Insight you want to connect.
Once linked, the Insight will appear in the Solution’s Insights tab.
Link from an Insight
You can also create this connection from the Insight side.
Open the Insight you want to connect.
Find the option to link it to a Solution.
Select the relevant Solution.
This creates the same connection, so you can work from whichever building block fits your workflow best.
Manage related Insights
Some Insights appear automatically as Related Insights because they share a Journey step with the Solution.
This helps keep Solutions connected to customer evidence without needing to link everything manually.
If needed, you can:
hide Insights that are not relevant
highlight the ones you want to bring attention to
Turn Related Insights on or off
Administrators can disable Related Insights in:
Settings > Workflow
If your team prefers to manage every Insight manually, you can turn this feature off.
That said, we recommend keeping it enabled. Automatic linking helps streamline your workflow and keeps Solutions grounded in customer evidence.
