Journey AI Storyboard Generator
The Storyboard Generator is a Journey AI feature that automatically creates visual storyboards for your customer journeys. Using your journey insights, step titles, and context, it generates custom images that illustrate what's happening at each step of the journey.
Before using the Storyboard Generator, ensure:
AI is enabled in your organization settings
Your journey has insights - at least one step in your journey must contain at least one insight
You have an image lane added to your journey (or be ready to add one)
How to Generate Images
Adding an Image Lane
Click the plus button between the lane headers
Select "Add lane to journey"
Choose "Images" from the options
Generating Images for All Steps
In the image lane header, click the AI icon
Choose your preferred image style:
Watercolor
Modern illustration
Minimal line art
The system will:
First show "Generating prompts" (creating step summaries from your journey data)
Then show "Generating images" (sending the data to the AI model)
Your images will appear in seconds
Generating Images for Individual Steps
You can also generate images for specific steps:
Click inside any cell in the image lane
Click the AI icon that appears
Choose your preferred style
The image will generate for that step only
How It Works
The Storyboard Generator analyzes:
Journey name and phase
Step titles
Insights within each step
It creates a summary of what's happening in each step, then uses that summary to generate an appropriate visual representation.
Example of a step called “Identifying wardrobe needs”:)
Advanced: Customizing Image Generation
For more control over your generated images, you can add custom step descriptions:
Adding Step Descriptions
Add a new text lane to your journey
Name it exactly "Step description"
In any step, add text describing what you want the image to show
Click the AI icon and generate images as usual
Your step description will override the automatic summary, giving you precise control over the image content.
Example of a step called “Identifying wardrobe needs” with a step description “The character must be outside sitting on a park bench”:)
Example Use Cases
Use step descriptions to specify:
Character details (age, ethnicity, appearance)
Setting and location (indoors, outdoors, specific environments)
Actions and context
Image style preferences
Specific objects or elements to include
Example: "The character must be sitting on a park bench outdoors, thinking about her wardrobe"
Tips for Step Descriptions
Be specific about what you want to see in the image
You can override descriptions for individual steps while leaving others to auto-generate
Re-generate images in each cell after updating descriptions to see the changes
