Enrich a journey or insight mining
You can safely enrich any journey by mining insights from your research and feedback sources. The new insight mining experience gives you greater control and visibility over how AI processes your data to create meaningful insights.

How to Start Insight Mining
There are two ways to begin mining insights:
From a specific insight lane: Click the AI icon within any insight lane. This pre-selects that lane as the destination for new insights, though you can change this later.

From the journey level: Click the Journey AI button in the top-right corner. This pre-selects all existing insight lanes in your journey as potential destinations.

Selecting Your Sources

When you start mining, you'll see the embedded data hub with all available sources. This table shows you:
Source details: Title, type (interview, survey, support log, feedback), and quote count
Origin: Whether manually uploaded or created through integrations (like Qualtrics → add link: https://www.theydo.com/help-center/qualtrics-workflows-for-ai-mining)
Last mined: When this source was last used to enrich this specific journey
Owner: Who uploaded or manages the source
Finding the Right Sources
Search: Type source names (like "Fashion Co") to find specific files
Filter: Narrow down by source type, owner, creation date, or origin
Configure view: Customize which columns you see in the table
Note: You can select up to 30 sources at once. This replaces the previous ability to mine across your entire data hub automatically.
Upload New Sources

Don't have your sources uploaded yet? No problem. Click "Upload sources" (link to data hub article → https://www.theydo.com/help-center/data-hub**)** within the mining flow to add new .txt or .csv files (up to 30 files, 50MB per selection). You can also paste text from any other format. Once uploaded, these sources will appear in your embedded data hub for selection.
Customize Your Mining Process

Before mining begins, you can specify:
Insight types: Choose which types to extract - gain, pain, need, or observation
Destination lanes: Select which insight lanes should receive the new insights
Mining behavior:
Create only new insights
Only enrich existing insights with new quotes from your selected sources
Do both - enrich existing insights first, then create new ones
During Mining

While insight mining runs, only the destination lanes you selected are locked. You can continue working in other insight lanes. The AI buttons in locked lanes will be disabled until you accept or reject the mining results.
AI will not change your phases and steps - it only works within your existing journey structure.
After Mining
)
Review your results and rate the mining job quality to help improve the AI. You can always reject results in bulk or review and modify individual insights and quotes before fully accepting them.
Journey AI prioritizes enriching existing insights with new quotes before creating entirely new insights, helping maintain consistency in your journey mapping.
