Data Hub

Data hub

Data Hub helps you stay organized by giving you one place to manage all your sources for Journey AI. Whether it's interviews, surveys, support logs, or feedback, you'll find everything here, sorted and easy to manage within your workspace. Your unified source repository for Journey AI.

What is Data Hub

Data Hub is the central place for managing all sources you've added to Journey AI. It supports uploaded files, pasted text, and integrated data sources (like Qualtrics surveys). Data Hub keeps everything organized so you can focus on turning insights into action.

Where to find it in the app

You'll find Data Hub in the main menu, just below Goals.

Sources in the Data Hub are specific to the workspace they were added in. They won't appear across other workspaces in your organization.

How to use Data Hub

Viewing your sources

When you open Data Hub, you'll see a clear, table-style overview of all your sources. For each source, you can view its name, type, owner, creation date, and last update date.

You can filter sources by:

  • Type: Interview, Survey, Support, or Feedback

  • Date: Using the unified date filter to see sources from specific time periods

  • Owner: To see who added each source

Want to customize your view? Use the Configure option to show or hide specific columns.

Uploading new sources

The Upload button in the top right corner lets you add new sources directly to the Data Hub:

  1. Click Upload to open the upload flow

  2. You can add files in multiple ways:

    • Select files from your computer (up to 30 files, TXT and CSV formats supported)

      • We limit TXT files to 25,000 words and CSV files to 10,000 rows

    • Paste text directly from websites, documents, or other sources

    • Combine multiple pasted texts and uploaded files in a single batch

  3. Specify the source type (Interview, Survey, Support, or Feedback) for each file or use "Assign to all" for batch assignment

  4. Click Analyze sources to process your files

  • Automatic file type detection: "Journey AI now automatically detects the source type (Interview, Survey, Support, or Feedback) when you upload files. You can review and change the detected type if needed."

  • Tag groups and tags assignment: "During upload, you can now assign tag groups and specific tags to your files. This helps with filtering and finding sources later. For example, assign 'Prospects' as a tag group and 'Lego' as a specific tag."

When pasting text from different sources, create separate files for each source rather than combining everything into one file. This improves the reliability score by helping Journey AI identify recurring patterns across multiple sources.

We recommend cleaning up the CSV files a bit before uploading them to the Data Hub. Read more:

Managing your sources

For each source in Data Hub, you can:

  • Download the original source file (if it was uploaded or pasted)

  • Rename sources to make them more identifiable

  • Delete sources (while keeping or deleting the extracted quotes)

  • Select multiple sources to delete them in bulk

You can open and view text files (.txt) directly in Data Hub. While CSV files aren't viewable in the interface, you can download them to view their contents.

Soon you'll be able to see all quotes that Journey AI has extracted from your sources directly within Data Hub

Creating journeys from sources

Data Hub now lets you create journeys directly from your sources:

  1. Select the sources you want to use

  2. Click Create journey

  3. Choose a journey template

  4. Journey AI will automatically use your selected sources to generate the journey

Interview Processing Features

  • Speaker detection: "For interview files, Journey AI automatically detects speakers in the conversation"

  • Persona assignment: "You can assign existing personas to detected speakers"

  • Include/exclude speakers: "Choose which speakers to include or exclude from quote extraction. For example, exclude the researcher and only include customer responses"

  • PII obfuscation: "Personal identifiable information is automatically obfuscated after processing, while maintaining the ability to filter by assigned personas"

What's processed when you upload

When you upload a source to Data Hub, Journey AI:

  1. Processes the content to extract quotes

  2. Makes the extracted quotes available for mining in journeys

This is why you need to wait for processing to complete before using a newly uploaded source.

CSV Column Classification

  • Column types available:

    • Date: Assigns timestamps to quotes from that row

    • Text: Content AI extracts quotes from

    • Persona: Auto-assigns personas if matching workspace personas exist

    • Quotes: Direct quote extraction

    • Ignore: Skip columns with irrelevant data

    • Tag groups (Location, Deal Stage, etc.): Auto-assigns or creates tags

  • Preview functionality: "View the first few rows with headers before processing"

Auto-tag creation: "If tags don't exist in the specified tag group, they'll be created automatically based on column content"

A quick reminder

Data Hub is designed for qualitative data used by Journey AI. While it currently supports text files and CSVs, we're continually expanding its capabilities to make managing your research and customer feedback easier than ever.
